The German High Sea Fleet sorties out of its harbors in Brest and St-Nazaire to challenge the Royal Navy's Grand Fleet once more, triggering a powerful naval battle. Meanwhile, a German battle squadron races south to get to German Southwest Africa. The Fleet's mission is to help the German Pacific Squadron that will eventually sail out of the Atlantic via the Cape Horn.

On land, both the Central Powers and the Entente are planning an offensive as Spring and early summer arrives. First, the Germans are poised to make a play for Lithuania and the Baltic States to assault the fortress of Kaunas and continue eastward.
